Brainstorm
So, I'm working on this giant mitered square that is destined for Cheyenne River when it suddenly came to me. . .
Now, this one, at 52" along the side is clearly Not Large Enough, but I'm thinking that if I cast on 250 stitches, it would be about 65" on a side, knit until it's down to 150 stitches (100 rows) or about 20" into it and voila shawl!
I'm sure I'm not the first knitter to think of this!

Would you put some short rows into the neck to "round it out" some, or leave it in the "L" shape? Looks pretty and warm to me either way.
Yes! I have wanted to do this for a while. I think the short rows will help make it fit better over the shoulders.
That is a great idea! I've been looking for a simple shawl but not a boring rectangle. And my word verification is, I kid you not, sillychu.
