What a Great Idea

I've done this before. But I had forgotten until I saw the idea on one of The Lists:
When knitting Two The Same (in this case, 2 booties ) flat, safety pin them together so that you don't stp "mid-row" and wind up with one of the pair 2 rows longer than the other.
Since the whole point of doing them both at the same time (think sleeves, mittens) is so that they will be the same length, this is absolutely brilliant!
This yarn was a gift (hi, Leah!). It's a cotton blend. A nice mauve. It's ending up as booties (2 pairs so far) for the Sock Challenge for the Reservation.
Mostly, I bought socks (dozens of them), but I decided that I could knit a few pairs of slippers and booties, too.

My favorite pattern (not the one I mentioned yesterday) can be found here. (Scroll down to #218.) A person who doesn't forget to decrease on both sides could probably finish a pair in a couple of hours. A person who does forget takes a little longer after frogging 4 rows and resetting the stitches. But I wouldn't know about that.

Health stuff (feel free to skip this part): The crud has hit at the food bank. Those of us who are ambulatory are spreading it around. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Comments:
I feel for ya on the crud. I've got some sort of sinus thing going on. Only 2 more days at the laundry and then off to the next job to infect some more innocents. hehehe
